International Students

International Students

New College welcomes students from all over the world and our welfare team are committed to ensuring that all students feel supported within the community. The Internationals Rep runs the welcoming program and a variety of activities throughout the year to help international students settle into life in the UK, and more specifically, at New College. These include BYOB (Bring Your Own Brit), a formal dinner organized for international students and a British friend you invite, and film nights, organized in collaboration with Oxford University International Film Society. These and other events help to build a strong international community that is well integrated. The International’s Rep is also Peer Supporter trained, so can be contacted about anything either in person, via Facebook, email, Skype or the anonymous instant messaging service.

International students might also be interested to look at international students’ section on the OUSU website (Oxford University Students’ Union) here, and there is also an OUSU International Students’ Campaign committed to representing and improving the welfare of all international students at Oxford, as well as promoting cultural exchange among students. You can find their  page here.

All prospective international students are welcome to come visit our college at any time. If you would like to arrange a tour of the college with a current student please get in touch with the international rep, Sam, by email: sam.moore@new.ox.ac.uk

Please do also get in touch with any questions you may have about college life as an international student and the international officer will answer them or put you in touch with one of the other international students in college.
